Dia de la luz

The day of the light or El día de la luz is a very successful activity at ICFO and the student chapter. We bring students from Catalonia to visit ICFO. The high school students will have a day of activities at ICFO, including hands-on activities, and global presentation of ICFO and the light.

Now the day of the light is two days of the light, and it will grow more and more, because there are more students and professors that want to attend.

By attending the program, students learned basic concepts such as polarization, wavelength, color, energy conversion, reflection and refraction in connection to every day experiences based on application optics.
In one of these sessions, students were familiarized with polarization of light through plastic polarizers and self-made liquid crystal cells.
