The International Association of Physics Students, IAPS, is an association of physics students and student societies from around the globe, working to promote peaceful collaboration amongst them. The members of IAPS are represented by national and local committees, who meet regularly to ensure the relevance of their activities.
Since 1987, the IAPS has worked continuously to support friendly relations and collaborations between physics students. IAPS is a recognised non-governmental organisation run entirely by students from around the world with a spirit of mutual understanding and equality. IAPS runs an annual International Conference for Physics Students (ICPS), visits to global research institutions, summer schools, exchange programmes and multinational meetings all over the world.
For more information about IAPS, you can have a look at http://www.iaps.info or contact them directly members@iaps.info.
The International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS) is organised every year by a member society of IAPS. In 2014 it will take place from 10th to 17th of August in Heidelberg, Germany. As a conference organised by physics students for physics students it will bring together around 450 young researchers from all over the world. It features invited lectures by top-class researchers, presentations and posters by students as well as exciting workshops, lab tours and a physics show at Heidelberg University. A one-day trip to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is included in the program and the participants will be able to visit many exciting experiments. Additional excursions to research facilities and world leading companies as Mercedes, Bosch or TRUMPF will give an insight into some of Germany’s state of the art research.
The ICPS is a great opportunity to meet students from other countries and we would like to invite everybody to the conference, who is eager to scientifically interact, irrespectively of linguistic, cultural or other differences!
The registration for the conference will open on February, 1st. More information can be found on the ICPS 2014 website http://icps2014.com/.
